My Story

At an early age, my mom claims that I brought home a fish drawing that looked exactly like a real fish. I was subsequently chosen for many extra curricular art opportunities, activities and projects throughout my schooling. All while my mom continued to hang my drawings on the refrigerator.

In recent years, I began painting pet commissions. I love the brush feeling of painting on gesso boards and smooth surfaces while creating a fun, colorful representation that makes pet owners smile. I also like the suspense of how the finished painting will look.

I wanted to be able to display my art where many people could see it, besides just on my mom's refrigerator. While driving around, looking for places to hang art, I noticed that quite a few front doors display wreaths that are not to scale for the door, skinny, and just plain timid looking. I wanted to create large scale shapes that could be seen from the curb. and hung on a door. I also wanted unique shapes as the canvas. If you can hang a painting on a wall, you can hang a painting on a door! With a few modifications.

Before the pandemic, began selling my art to local markets, at festivals and in small shops around Richmond, VA. It's my hope that anyone who owns a wreath will expand their door decor and add at least one door hanger, painted by me, to their collection. After all, you could change the painting on your door everyday if you wanted to!
